Closed Resorts

"Binion's" for most of its life was known as "Binion's Horseshoe" and was home to the 'World Series Of Poker' but after many years in the 80's with union issues and then a 90s and beyond where the property didn't keep up the casino closed for a short while and was bought by Harrah's (now named Caesars) who kept it long enough to move the 'World Series Of Poker' to there "Rio" property and to strip the building of the Horseshoe name before selling the property to new owners. The property is now owned by the owner of the "Four Queens" across Fremont Street who last year closed down the hotel part but kept the casino open. In recent months there has been some construction at the property as a new bar is being built and reports the hotel rooms are being remodelled which is welcome news. The casino itself became famous for taking any bet however big and has two parts the original "Binion's Horseshoe" side with lower ceilings and a western decor and the more moderrn and higher ceilings of the former "Mint" casino which they too over. The property for years had a popular basement coffee shop which closed when the hotel rooms did but also has a busy snack bar with cheap food which is open at its the steakhouse at the top of the building which gets good reviews and, has a nice view.

Whiskey Licker At "Binnon's"

Whiskey Licker Seating Area And Bar

Inneuendo Signage Next To The Bar

The Whiskey Licker is a new bar with outdoor seating area out front of "Binion's" on Fremont Street and also as part of the new construction includes a yogurt stand with seperate seating area. Whiskey Lickers deck is for customers only and, is full most of the night as its right next to one of the entertainment stages. Its nice to see money finally being spend on "Binions" and with rumors that the hotel there may reopen soon things may be finally looking up for "Binions."

"Binions" Sign During The Day

The "Binion's" sign during the day doesn't look quiet as good as it does at night and, isn't quite the same with out the Horseshoe logo that graced the property for so many years.
