Yes there are still many free attractions in Las Vegas even though everything else has gotten more expensive in recent times. One such free attraction is the Silverton Aquarium which is located at the mountain chalet themed Silverton Hotel & Casino near the South Strip. Red Rock Canyon Fees Rise

If you want to check out the amazingly beautiful Red Rock Canyon conservation area near Las Vegas the entrance fee is due to rise starting February 20th. The new price to enter the thirteen mile scenic drive will more than double with the cost per carload going up to $15 from the current $7 with prices for motorcyclists going to $10 from $3. The BLM managed conservation area hasn’t raised prices since 2011 but is still well worth a visit even with the price increases. Xmas In LV: Magical Forest

Their is still time to check out the Magical Forest at Opportunity Village which runs through December 31st. The attraction has millions of sparkling lights and nightly entertainment plus food and of course Santa for your kids to take photos with. Xmas In LV: Winter Village

The Winter Village at Green Valley Ranch is open through January 7th and is located at the properties outdoor amphitheater and includes an outdoor ice rink. If you want to use the ice rink its open Thursday to Sundays with the rink opening at 4 pm during the week and 11 am on the weekends. The cost is $20 but that also includes your skate rentals and, tickets can be purchased in person at the ice rink.

Stones Exhibit Coming To LV

A new exhibit is coming to Las Vegas this month when “Exhibitionism- The Rolling Stones” rolls in to town and, opens at the Palazzo on September 23rd. The new exhibit includes more than 500 personal items of Rolling Stones band members that will be on display. The exhibit is described as immersive and interactive so I presume you will be able to watch or listen to audio or video clips as part of the exhibit. The highlight of the exhibit is not trying to understand what Keith Richards said but a backstage  to onstage 3D experience.

Zombies At Fremont Street

A new interactive Zombie themed interactive attraction has opened at the Fremont Street Experience; The new attraction is called Fear The Walking Dead Survival and is part escape room, part maze and haunted house and part interactive video game. Mini Golf Coming To Bally’s

Bally’s have announced they are adding mini golf with bowling and an arcade to their resort but no date has been announced yet for the planned opening. The planned 10,000 square area will be built by Monster Mini Golf who built the similar Kiss Mini Golf at the Rio although this place won’t have a Kiss theme. Hopefully more details about the attraction will be forthcoming soon.

Bellagio Conservatory Christmas Display

It looks like Caesars are adjusting their pricing beginning September 2nd for the High Roller observation wheel located center Strip at the Linq. The new adult ticket price for the daytime will be $24.95 which was the original price but it had been dropped to $19.95 for the Summer months. The current nighttime price is $34.95 and will remain unchanged and youth pricing will be at $24.95 starting September 2nd. The Atlantis Show is a free attraction located inside the Forum Shops next to Caesar’s Palace and uses animatronics to tell a story about Roman characters Atlas, Gadrius and Alia. Yesterday was the grand opening of Hershey’s Chocolate World at New York New York on the Strip. The new 13,000 square foot two story store showcases the various Hershey products and does things like allowing guests to purchase personalized candy wrappers. Yes this new store does sound a lot like the nearby M&M World located near the MGM but if you like chocolate more choice can’t be a bad thing. Downtown Grand ‘Picnic’ Area Opens

When plans were announced about turning the former closed Lady Luck in to the Downtown Grand one of the areas that got a lot of discussion was the new rooftop pool being added to the remodeled hotel. In a recent article we mentioned that the High Roller observation wheel at the Linq was close to opening with an projected opening by the end of March.  The worlds tallest observation wheel has received its operating permit so its free to open soon. The above picture is what will be the entrance to the High Roller observation wheel at the Linq or at least it will be when the High Roller starts operating. Inside the entrance two ladies who were brand ambassadors were there, but when i asked when the High Roller is opening they said by the end of the month but wouldn’t say when. The High Roller looks ready to go, they were testing it during the day and at night it is lit up so an announcement on the exact opening date i’m sure isn’t far away.
