“Mirage” Pushes Up Resort Fee

Here at Las Vegas Inside Out we’re not a fan of resort fees because it’s an extra charge on top of the advertised price for a room per day. The resort fees vary from a few dollars to $20 or more dollars per day for stuff that you formally may have got for free when you booked a room. Now news that the latest property to raise its daily resort fee is the “Mirage” which has raised the daily fee to $25 per day which is a $2.50 per day increase over the previous price. Below is a breakdown of the things you get for your resort fee at the “Mirage” the internet access and newspaper is nice as are robes in the room; but other items not everyone will use including cardio center access and notary service. Mostly useless things on the list that seem dated are things such as free faxes or local phone calls as most customers have cell phones and also email not fax.

Newly Single Katy Perry At The “Mirage”

Pop star Katy Perry who is newly single after her divorce from British comedian Russell Brand is due to appear today at the “Mirage” for a charity event. Katy Perry is set to co-host the Give Love charity event at the grand opening of the 1 Oak nightclub at the “Mirage” today. We do like Katy Perry although the name of the new club 1 Oak is a little strange but I’m sure it will do well.

Carnegie Delicatessen

This is the Las Vegas location of the famous New York deli in the "Miraage" and includes the usual deli staples such as huge sandwiches with thinly sliced meat. If you are looking for a filling meal this isn't a bad choice the sandwiches are good and large but can get pricey. If i had a choice i think the "Earl Of Sandwich" at "Planet Hollywood" is a better deal as its priced less and just as good.

Mirage Needs Windex

Okay the Mirage is the Steve Wynn property that started the boom in mega resorts on the strip and, has long been a favorite of mine. So yesterday i went there on the tram from TI to check out the remodelling that MGM had recently done to the hotel. First of all after i got off the tram at the main entrance i noticed the glass doors were dirty and covered in thousands of finger prints. Okay finger prints on glass doors are to be expected but these doors didn't look like they had been cleaned in ages, i wonder if Steve Wynn still owned this property if this would have happened oh well. Anyway once inside i was impressed the new shops and restaurants look great with a very classy decor.
