Playboy Club To Return?

Recently it was announced that the Playboy Club at the "Palms"is closing and the question was then would it be reopening at some point in a different location? Well it looks like we may have an answer in this tweet on twitter from Hugh Hefner 'The Vegas Playboy Club is closing with the change in the ownership of the Palms, a new Vegas location will be announced shortly.' Who knows if a new club will actually open but a new Playboy Club at "Planet Hollywood" were Mr Hefners ex Holly Madison works or at the "Hard Rock" would seem to make the most sense but other places such as the "Rio" or even "Red Rock" could be good places for a new club. Once the Playboy Club closes at the "Palms" im sure the huge Playboy logo on the side of the building will have to be removed but will they have to rename the Playboy suite at the property.

KISS Golf Opens March 15th

The long rumored KISS themed miniature golf course and amusement park is finally set to open on March 15^th across from the “Hard Rock” hotel and casino. This project had for years been discussed for various locations all over town but now you will be able to play golf in a KISS themed heaven complete with what’s being billed as the world’s largest KISS gift shop to get all your souvenirs of the rock legends; Other attractions at the course include a Hotter than Hell wedding chapel and the Rock ‘n” Roll All Night Café. The 18^th hole also has a replica of band leader Gene Simmons famous large tongue which could be disturbing to some we would guess oh well the madness starts March 15th.

Motley Crue To Rock The “Hard Rock”

There used to be two constant rumors in Las Vegas for years that never happened one was any new resort project with a Ferris wheel as part of it would never happen; This went on for years although with Caesars new ‘Linq’ project this run may finally be broken. The other constant rumor was LA legendary rock group Motley Crue would have a headlining residency run at one of the major resort hotels in town. This rumor went on for years especially since the lead singer Vince Neill lives in Las Vegas but the residency never materialized. Now finally comes news that in February of next year the band will be playing several nights at the “Hard Rock” with what is promised as a show spectacular instead of just the normal rock concert. As someone that grew up in Southern California as the band took off and is a big fan I hope to see them and also hope that there residency is extended past February. Most residencies where one singer or band plays a lot of shows at a property are usually main stream singers and not usually bands so it would be great to see more bands taking up residence in Las Vegas for a month or so at a time.

Ring In The New Year With Guns N' Roses

Watching Axl and Guns N' Roses rock in the New Year at the "Hard Rock" sounds like quite a party and as someone who has seen the band live in the past Axl puts on a great show. Will the band go onstage late and Axl get upset and, throw down the mic before walking off during the encore there is always that chance but either way should be a rocking show. The "Hard Rock" has a package deal for this show for $1,299 plus resort fees etc that includes 2 nights stay plus 2 concert tickets and a pre concert open bar on New Years Eve from 7:30-9:30pm see the "Hard Rock" New Years solution website or contact the hotel for more infomation.

Club Operator Light Group Sold

What do you do if you lose your mananagement deal of a big Las Vegas resort property such as Morgans Hotel Group did after the "Hard Rock" defaulted on its debt and was given to its lenders? Well in Morgans case you double down and buy Las Vegas nightclub operator the Light Group for $46.5 million which will give it 90 percent of the company. If you are not familar with the Light Group it owns such clubs has the Bank at the "Bellagio," Haze at "Aria" and a steakhouse at "Monte Carlo" called Brand. The company also owns the long running Jet nightclub at the "Mirage" which is reopening on New Years Eve with what has to be the worst club name 1 Oak. This may be a smart business move for Morgans as the Light Group clubs have done well and the company has a good business relationship with MGM Mirage im not in to $600 or more bottle table service at a nightclub but it seems many people are. 

Hard Rock Adds Sole

This is an interesting charity event the singer Carlos Santana who has a regular gig at the Hard Rock has hooked up with Project Sole and is taking new or gently used shoes for the charity. He is taking donation of the shoes during his current show run from April 21st- May 2nd right before the concert or from 10am- 8pm at the Hard Rock box office. I do feel sorry for the people in the Hard Rock box office though sitting there with smelly shoes.
