“Silverton” Poker Room Closes

We recently reported that the “Fitzgerald’s” poker room was closing and now news that the “Silverton’s” poker room has now also closed. If you are not familiar with the “Silverton” it’s about three miles from the strip and, is mostly known for a big fishing store as well as an aquarium at the property. In the last few years poker rode a wave of popularity because of the numerous television shows featuring games but after a government clamp down on the US poker sites it seems the growth has slowed. Every property in Las Vegas added poker rooms and with the economy and a slowdown in poker play it’s not surprising some of the less busy rooms are closing. Some of the business for these rooms may also be going to newer or bigger properties such the “M Resort” or “South Point” which also aren’t that far away from the “Silverton.” We wouldn’t be surprised if smaller poker rooms closed in this climate, but overall poker seems to still be pretty popular.

Hash House A Go Go is celebrating its 5th anniversary today of its original Las Vegas location on Sahara with $5 specials at that location. If you haven't eating there before its worth a visit the location in the Imperial Palace is more convenient for visitors. What Hash House A Go Go is famous for is huge portions and, their breakfast especially is worth trying for huge pancakes with such combinations as chocolate and peanut butter. Hash House A Go Go is adding a third Las Vegas location soon at the M Resort which is worth a visit if you are driving in to Las Vegas.

Imperial Palace Location: 2nd floor, take the escalator adjacent to the Ginza Bar in the center of the casino.
