NFR Free Shuttle Service

If you are heading over to the Thomas & Mack Center from downtown to see the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo you might want to take advantage of the free shuttle offered by the Plaza. The Plaza’s free shuttle runs nightly during the event from 5 pm to 7 pm from the Plaza with returning shuttles between 9 to 10:30pm.

Oscar’s NFR Specials

Oscar’s Steakhouse at the Plaza downtown has always been a good option for perfectly aged steaks which are cooked over a 600 degree grill. During the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo they have added three special menu items just for the event; The first braised short ribs over country grits with fried onions, the second is a slow roasted prime rib with loaded mashed potatoes and green beans and finally a Whiskey BBQ glazed sirloin steak with baked potato and brussel sprouts for $35 each. NFR Practice Arena

The Plaza in downtown Las Vegas is hosting a practice arena and stalls for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo which are going on at the present time over at the Thomas & Mack Center for $10 million in prize money. Everyday between now and  December 16th from 9 am to 4 pm they have team roping practice with grade A and B steers. Recently Derek Stevens the owner of D Las Vegas bought the Las Vegas Club from Tamares the owner of the Plaza across the street and tonight the 86 year old property will close for good. It looks like Tamares will retain the rights to the Las Vegas Club name so whatever Derek Stevens decides to do with the property it will most likely have a new name. Wranglers Ice Hockey Folds

The owner of the ECHL franchise Las Vegas Wranglers has announced that the not return after failing to find a replacement home for the new season. For many years the minor league ice hockey team played at the Orleans Arena until in 2013 the owners Boyd Gaming announced they would no renew their lease after the 2013 to 2014 season.
