The Strip Without Cars?

]A Clark County Commissioner has gotten a lot of press lately, when he suggested that maybe private vehicles could be banned from the Strip. If you have ever driven down the Strip especially during the evening hours with the huge volume of slow moving traffic you might think this might be a good idea; to just let pedestrians as well as buses use the part of Las Vegas Blvd commonly called the Strip. The main drawbacks to this plan include closing the Strip would just push the traffic to nearby streets which themselves would become clogged, it also would also mean some businesses would be cut off from vehicle access. A discussion does need to be had to improve the traffic flow on the Strip although options such as a light rail system or tram down the Strip would be better options than causing gridlock on side streets.
