As things start to get back to more normal in Las Vegas comes some good news for fans of World Wrestling Entertainment or WWE as most people know it as; The WWE has announced that their huge event Summerslam is headed to Las Vegas on August 21st at Allegiant Stadium which would make it one of the first sporting events held at full capacity since before the pandemic.
Tickets for the event go on sale at June 18th or you can register for the presale at http://www.summerslam.com/presale for the event which is held at 5pm on August 21st. Tickets for SummerSlam start at $25 plus the usual pesky taxes and fees but should sell out quickly with the WWE fans as well as the pent up demands for live events after the pandemic.
Summer movies return to the Boulevard Pool at the Cosmopolitan starting Monday night with the Karate Kid showing on the 65 foot digital marquee overlooking the pool. The traditional Dive In Movie Event happens every Monday night now through September 13th with the doors opening at 7 pm and the movies starting at 8 pm.
Admission is free for hotel guests as well as first responders and members of the Cosmopolitans players club get two comp tickets. The movies on the pool overlooking the Strip are always popular and, a way to get out of the casino for a couple of hours.
Cirque du Soleil has announced that the Blue Man Group will return with shows June 24th at the Luxor. The show is produced by the company which emerged from bankruptcy last November with new owners. After the blue guys return next up is Mystere which will start shows at Treasure Island (TI() on June 28th then on July 1st O will return to performances at the Bellargio.
Its great to see shows finally return to the Strip and, if you are a Cirque du Soleil fan you will soon be able to see the shows again. Tickets for all three shows are currently on sale and, expected to sell well because of the pent up Las Vegas demand because of the pandemic.
Eight time Grammy Award winner Usher has announced he has added six more dates to his mini residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The talented songwriter, actor and dancer has added six more dates to the original 12 performances with all the new dates scheduled in August.
The original dates were for two in July then two in December as well as one in January 2022 the added shows are because of strong ticket sales. Usher when he tours generally fills huge arenas so many of his fans are jumping at the chance to see him in the relatively much smaller 4,300 seat Colosseum at Caesars Palace theater.
Fans of the Electric Daisy Carnival are starting to wonder with the COVID-19 safety restrictions eased but still in place is the massive music festival going to take place.
The annual event draws huge crowds to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway but with the event on May 21 to 23 the question is will restrictions be eased enough for the event to take place.
At the moment the organizers of the electronic dance and music festival Insomniac have replayed on social media when asked that EDC will happen this year.
Even with the social distancing and, masks that are still likely to be in place i would be surprised if this years EDC does go on but at the moment the organizers are saying it will so we will have to wait to see what happens.
Right now through January 4th in the Aria Hotel & Casino lobby is their Winter Wonderland attraction.
The holiday themed attraction features the Sugar Palace a house all made out of edible ingredients and, showcases seven different sugar techniques which makes the centerpiece of the attraction.
The attraction also includes the Winter Wonderland forest the forest features white and silver trees with oversized hand crafted ornaments as well as a 17 foot Christmas tree with 500 crystals as decoration.
