Comedy Club Opens Downtown

The former space of the Mob Bar in Downtown Las Vegas at the Downtown Grand has been converted in to a 100 seat entertainment venue called The Spare Room. The space near the Art Bar will host Don Barnhart’s Hypnomania at 7pm followed by Delirious Stand Up Comedy at 9pm with shows Wednesdays through Sundays.

Tickets for the shows are $29.99 each plus the usual fees and taxes are available at The Downtown Grand is a a block off the Fremont Street Experience so not every visitor to Downtown Las Vegas walks over to the resort which is a shame because its a nice property; Hopefully the new entertainment venue brings more people to the resort as well as very good nearby restaurants.

Naked Magicians Get Dressed

It looks like the four month run of the The Naked Magicians at Brad Garett’s Comedy Club at the MGM Grand is over with website even reporting the two Australian performers have gone their separate ways.

According to the website one of the magicians has returned to Australia with other remaining in Las Vegas to join a variety show which is in development. Hopefully the show didn’t close for financial reasons it would be bad if they lost their shirt along with the rest of their clothes. Sorry i had to get a couple of puns in the story but those are just the bare facts.

Tenors Of Rock Moving

The Tenors of Rock has closed at Harrahs after a couple of years, but fans of the five Australians singing classic rock songs shouldn’t worry as its reopening at Planet Hollywood. The show is set to reopen next week in the Sin City Theater which is a small space on the second floor behind the poker tables; The room is more like a lounge with a bar and a stage which means most likely the noise level in the room will be high, but at least you have a place to see them.

Human Nature Gets Extension

The popular Australian performers Human Nature have announced they have signed a new contract for another three years performing their show at Venetian’s Sands Showroom with their show called “Jukebox.” The Aussie quartet is mostly known for their performance of Motown songs but they also do classic pop songs as well as soul and doo-wop during their popular show. Human Nature has been together for thirty years including ten years in Las Vegas and put on a really good show, its always one of the shows i would recommend for a visitor to Las Vegas. One note is a couple of times a year the show is on a break as they return to their native Australia to tour.

Criss Angel At Planet Hollywood

Planet Hollywood

Criss Angel’s revamped show Mindfreak is due to open December 19th at Planet Hollywood with a different show than the one that previously had a long run at the Luxor.

The new show is billing itself as having twenty new never seen before effects and although i wasn’t a fan of his previous show Criss Angel does have his fans. If you want to check out the new show tickets start at $69 plus the usual taxes and fees.

Criss Angel Show To Close

Cirque Du Soleil have announced that Criss Angels’s Show at the Luxor called ‘Mindfreak Live is to close October 28th 2018 after a ten year run. The show originally opened in 2008 with the name ‘Believe’ as a more typical Cirque Du Soleil show but the show was changed to make less of the Cirque elements and, showcase more of the goth style magicians performance. In 2016 the show was retooled in to the current ‘Mindfreak Live,’ myself personally I not a fan of Criss Angel or the show which is a little on the dark side for me but a ten year run in Las Vegas for a performer is amazing. If you are a fan of the show you have plenty of time to see it over the coming months and with its closure such a long time off no discussion what will replace it.

No 50 Shades At Bally’s

It looks likes it the end of the road for the show 50 Shades! A Parody at Bally’s which has announced its last show will be on September 11th. The show has been running at Bally’s for over a year and generally gets pretty good reviews for a lower budget show. The replacement for the show has been announced as Evil Dead The Musical which sounds interesting to say the least.

Elton John To Return To LV

Earlier this year music legend Elton John canceled shows of his “The Million Dollar Piano” in Las Vegas after the singer got a bacterial infection. But there is good news for Elton John fans as he has announced he will return to Las Vegas for a series of shows starting in October running through May of 2018. The singer has sold over 250 million records in his five-decade long career and, will return to his residency on the Strip at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.  Tickets go on sale this Saturday June 10th starting at $55 plus the usual taxes and fees. There is a limit of eight tickets per guest and can be purchased in person at The Colosseum box office or by calling 1 (888) 4 Elton J or online at or The show dates on sale starting Saturday are mainly for October of this year and February of 2018 with a few show dates in November and March of 2018 all shows begin at 7:30pm.

No More Olivia In 2017

It seems Olivia Newton John’s three year run at the Flamingo in Las Vegas may be over as her available dates this Summer don’t line up with the available dates of the Flamingo showroom. The Australian star who became known worldwide because of her lead role in the movie Grease with John Travolta, is currently on a tour through May. The busy performer recently wrapped up a tour of the UK and has other projects including recording a new album as well as a movie planned in the near future.  Olivia Newton John’s last performed the show in December and, would perform at the Flamingo on the open nights when Donny & Marie weren’t performing in their showroom. It’s a shame that the Summer Nights show won’t be returning to the Flamingo this year as it generally was well liked by people that had seen the show. If Olivia Newton John isn’t able to perform this year in Las Vegas hopefully Summer Nights show will return for another run in 2018.

Britney Adds More Show Dates In LV

When plans were announced for a residency for Britney Spears with her show Piece of Me, fans were excited to see the popstar up close and personal; Many others wondered how she would do in a nightly show and if she could sustain long term audiences; The answer is in and yes, she can as the popular performer has added more dates several times over the shows run. Now comes news that dates have been added in August and September of this year the new dates added are for ten dates in August beginning on August 9th with two additional dates on September 1st and 2nd
