MGM Resorts has announced that parking rates at its 12 properties on the Las Vegas Strip are raising starting today, the new rates also include a new two to four hour valet rate. The rates of course vary by property although free self parking is still available for Pearl, Gold, Platinum or NOIR level members of its M Life players card or cardholders of its M Life Rewards Mastercard.

The question to many with ever higher parking fees on top of ever higher resort fees whats the tipping point where a visitor might chose to stay off Strip or not visit at all. Sure if this is your one and only visit to Las Vegas you will most like just deal with the extra costs but i wonder if this will effect at some point the 40 percent of visitors to Las Vegas who mainly drive in for the weekends.

The prices at the lower tier properties for self parking are free at Circus Circus, and $10 for 24 hours at Luxor and Excalibur; The mid tier parking pricing for properties such as Mandalay Bay, Delano, MGM Grand, The Park MGM, New York New York and the Mirage is up to $15 for 24 hours; Finally the highest tier parking is for the Aria, Bellagio and Vdara with self parking now up to $18 for 24 hours.
