New Pedestrian Bridge Open

Empty-Las-Vegas-Strip

The new pedestrian bridge between the Park MGM resort and the Showcase Mall has finally opened which is the now the 17th pedestrian bridge crossing the Strip. The new bridge is especially useful if you need to cross the Strip and are attending a Vegas Knights game or show at the T Mobile Arena.

The new pedestrian bridge took longer than expected with it taking 14 months to complete, after issues with construction of the elevators and escalators. I remember when the first two pedestrian bridges were opened in 1995 at Tropicana and although the escalators don’t always work the bridges have made it much easier to cross the Strip.

Before the addition of the pedestrian bridges on the Strip large crowds of people crossing at intersections would often delay the traffic even after the traffic signals changed.
