The Tropicana a few years back had a well received make over of its rooms as well as public areas which breathed new life in to the former declining Strip property. One area the property has still lacked in is the restaurant and food options which have needed a revamp. When Penn National took over the property they said a major dining overhaul at the Tropicana was at the top of their list and it looks like they are making good on that promise with a new restaurant from Food Network chef and alum Robert Irvine in 2017. To promote the new restaurant the Restaurant Impossible star rappelled down the side of the building which doesn’t have an opening date but the first half of 2017 seems most likely. Penn National promised to upgrade the dining at the property so we wouldn’t be surprised if more announcement about new restaurants coming to the Tropicana are announced in the next few months.
