Treasure Island To Become Radisson

Later this year the Treasure Island or TI as its also known will become a Radisson Hotel with the 3,000 room resort becoming the first Radisson on the Las Vegas Strip. Members of the Radisson Rewards program will be able to earn and redeem points at the property sometime in 2020.

Room rates at the Treasure Island can vary a lot with sometimes as low as $50 a night to over $200 a night on weekends and peak times plus the pesky resort fee. Many people are big fans of Treasure Island its just not a property I spend a lot of time at but its in a prime location on the Strip and, should be a big plus for Radisson Reward members.

Treasure Island is home to a Marvel Avengers exhibit as well as a long running Cirque Du Soleil show called Mystere which gets good reviews.

Mirage Tram Reopens

The tram that runs since 1993 between the Mirage and Treasure Island (now TI) is finally running again after it closed late last year after a short time reopening after a complete renovation; The tram was only open three weeks after the complete renovation of the system before a two ton steel wheel broke which forced the tram to be closed while a new part was fabricated and then installed. So now the two  car 100 passenger tram is back running the short trip between the two properties.

If you want to use the newly opened tram the hours are from 9 am to 1 am Sunday to Thursday and until 3 am on Fridays and Saturdays. The tram ride is free and the wait isn’t too long usually for the tram to return to your station unless their is crowds but even during busy times it doesn’t seem to bad as many people don’t know the tram even exists.

TI Buffet Now Open

Treasure Island, Las Vegas

The former Dishes Buffet at TI has finally reopened after the long $4 million remodel with a new name as the Corner Market Buffet. The remodel was scheduled to be over in June which was then delayed until August but for fans of TI  the buffet is finally open again. The Corner Market Buffet is also larger than the previous buffet at 13,000 square feet which means also they have added a larger selection of food.

As i have mentioned in the past i don’t spend a lot of time at the TI and not really for any bad reason the property is fine its just i have other places i go to in the area. The TI does have a lot of fans though and i will check out the new buffet as soon as i can, if you have checked it out leave comments in the post.
