This isn’t really a surprise in the age of Uber and Lyft but taxi usage in Las Vegas like many cities is way down, in fact down 19.2 percent for this November over the same time last year. Taxi ridership for November was 1.6 million fares and we wouldn’t be surprised if the numbers continue to drop as the ride call apps like Uber take an ever bigger chunk of the market. There has been some discussion about lowering the fees taxi’s are charged to make them more competitive but time will tell if that slows down the drop off in use of taxi’s.
