In what should be good news for a lot of readers of this site Zippy’s the popular Hawaiian restaurant chain has finally announced its first mainland location in Las Vegas at the corner of Badura Avenue and Montessouri Street which is between South Buffalo and South Rainbow. The bad news is that you still have a while to wait to taste their signature dishes as the location is planned to open a year from now and its a shame the location isn’t closer to the tourist area but i’m sure the Zippy’s fans will find a way to visit during their Las Vegas stay.
Zippy’s opened in Hawaii 52 years ago and nows is a chain with 24 locations in Oahu, Maui as well as the Big Island and has a devoted following for its signature chili as well as its Zip Pac bentos, fried chicken, oxtail soup, loco moco, salmin and mahi sandwiches. I’m in Southern California and we have several Hawaiian restaurant chains here and i do like the food so i am looking forward to checking out Zippy’s with its first mainland location.
The Las Vegas location will be a 7,000 square foot restaurant and bakery with a 12,000 square foot commercial kitchen on vacant land purchased by Zippy’s just South of the 215 Beltway and once the location is open the chain plans to have the restaurant open 24 hours a day which is good for a night person like me.
